Lots of itineraries by canoes are possible for everyone is able to manage this kind of boat. The only and real limits could be the weather and the travel along. From Comacchio, leaving from the headquarters of the Canoe Club by the the Nautic Centre of Fattibello, it’s possible to cover itineraries along the Comacchio marshes, which extend on south-western side of the town, through an environment always dedicated to the local fishing, both moving and stationary, represented from the peculiar houses, called “bilancioni”.
From Lido di Volano, 15 km north of Comacchio, landing stage “Madonnina”, it’s possible to enter in contact with the real Po Delta, through itineraries which bring the traveller toward north of the mouth of Volano’s Po, to form a labyrinth, from which it’s sometimes difficult to come out; on the north-east side the vast water spot of the Sacca di Goro, with its breeding of mussels and clams; on the north-west it crosses the Taglio della Falce reaching the Mesola Wood. For whom like venturing on their own with altenative itineraries, can do it, thanking to the preparation of the excursion and accompaniment of the Canoe Club. For whatabout concerns the canoe’s events, a traditional appointment is that one of the Canoe Cross along the typical channels of the historical lagoon centre. It’s possible to visit the historic centre of Comacchio by boat too. The starting point is from the ancient fishmonger’ shop in the nearby of “Trepponti” bridge. |

| Nautical itineararies in the Po Delta |

Travelling down the Ferrarese Delta over the water is a highly intense, impressive emotion, offering unique, suggestive experiences. Going through the Comacchio marshes or going down the river along to the suggestive point, where its waters merge to those ones of the sea. The boats bring you to the discovery of an unique landscape, dominated from a changeable balance between waters and emerging lands, islands, which are swept away by wind and waves, covered by cane thicket; uncontested kingdom of several kinds of birds. From the spring to late in autumn, from the docks of Goro and Gorino Ferrarese leave many motorships, which follow highly suggestive itineraries along the river and over the lighthouse, which signs the extreme eastern strip of land of the ferrarese territory.
Sliding on the water, sailing along the “Isola dell’Amore”, the “Scanno” and “Sacca di Goro”, between the fishing farm and fishermen, searching for gilthead breams, grey mullets, sea basses and eels; or sailing up the Venetian inlets, visiting places, bathed in a singular quiet, only broken sometimes from the birds’ cries. From the outlet of Volano’s Po, it can make wonderful excursions by motoroships, along the “Taglio della Falce” and long the channel towards Goro. In Portogaribaldi, during the sommer season the tourist motorships offer the possibility to practice deep-sea fishing or tuna and mackerel fishing or to reach the Po’s mouth, at north of the seasides resorts, in the earth of the Delta. In Casone Foce, southwards, few kilometres far from Comacchio, small motorships plough the marshes, assuring the tourists a close contact to the extraordinary surroundings. Along the itinerary, some typical houses “casoni”, which were transformed into a museum about marshes’ lifestyle and about eel’s fishing, invite the tourist to a short stop. |

For whom is fond of and not, it’s very amusing a motorship excursion for fishing mackerel and tuna. It is possible to book the excursion direct to the dock of Portogaribaldi or simply making a call.
